Digital photography is a new passion of mine and the kids are itching to participate as well. To that end I purchased the complete NIK software package with Lightroom today. (!!!!) I am so excited I can't sit still! If you take lots of pictures and want an easier interface than traditional photoshop you will LOVE, LOVE this.
The kids take pictures with the little Canon and I get the big one. :) I don't feel confident enough to put $2000 worth of equipment into an 11 year old's hands--yet. Micah is learning how to use Paint Shop Pro x2 and has been watching Lynda.com instruction all afternoon (his chosen elective).
Don't tell the kids, but they are all getting Holgas for Christmas and darkroom gear for home developing. We all seem to be equally smitten with this camera fascination. :)
